Description
Selank (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) was developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It combines the sequence of Tuftsin with a Pro-Gly-Pro sequence to enhance its stability and half-life.
Mechanism of Action
Enkephalin Preservation: Selank inhibits the enzymes responsible for the degradation of enkephalins (natural painkillers), potentially regulating the body’s response to stress.
Neurotrophic Support: Studies suggest it upregulates BDNF expression in the hippocampus, which is critical for memory and cognitive function.
Immune Modulation: As a Tuftsin derivative, it also retains immunomodulatory properties, making it a dual-action research candidate.
Quality Assurance
Sequence: Tuftsin Analog (7 Amino Acids)
Form: Sterile White Lyophilized Powder
